The Impact of Using the IPUSNAS Application in Meeting the Information Needs of Students in the Library Science Study Program, 2021-2023 Class, Faculty of Adab and Humanities, UIN Raden Fatah Palembang

Abstract

The iPusnas application is a digital platform that provides access to a variety of electronic book collections that can be accessed by users for free. This study aims to analyze the influence of using the iPusnas application on the information needs of Library Science students batch 2021-2023 at the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. In this study, the population studied consisted of 126 respondents, all of whom were active students of the Library Science program at the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, batch 2021-2023. The research method used is a descriptive method with a quantitative approach, with data collection techniques through online questionnaires and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods to measure the influence of the independent variable (use of the iPusnas application) on the dependent variable (information needs). Data analysis techniques in this study include normality analysis, simple regression tests, and hypothesis testing. The results show that the use of the iPusnas application scored 3.39, which is categorized as very high, and the information needs scored 3.47, which is also categorized as very high. The use of the iPusnas application on information needs resulted in t-value > t-table (8.735 > 1.979), indicating a significant influence between the use of the iPusnas application and information needs. The conclusion of this study is that the use of the iPusnas application plays a significant role in the information needs of Library Science students at the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, batch 2021-2023. Therefore, it is recommended that the campus continue to support the use of this application for students' needs.
