Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of information literacy on  the implementation of scientific communication of UIN Raden  Fatah Palembang students of the class of 2021. Information literacy is an essential skill in supporting students' ability to convey ideas, concepts, and scientific findings effectively through scientific work. The method used is descriptive quantitative with a sample of 392 students from a total population of 20,010 students using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through a questionnaire based on the Seven Pillars model for the information literacy variable and a contextual model for the scientific communication variable. The results of the analysis show that the level of information literacy and scientific communication is in the high category, with grand mean values of 4.03 and 4.08, respectively. The results of the simple linear regression test show a significant and positive influence between information literacy and scientific communication, with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), a calculated t value of 22.008 (> t table 1.649), and a coefficient of determination R² of 0.554. Thus, the higher the level of student information literacy, the better their scientific communication skills.
